Reception and admission 

On most occasions patient find hospital new and strange they  are usually worried about there health and come there only because it is necessary. In many instances they have not had time to arrange their business and personal affairs and this may be given every consideration by the the nurse who receive them. A friend often accompanies the patient and must also receive consideration. Patient may arrive in ward either walking in a wheelchair or on a trolley 

""The walking in or ambulant patient

These patients are frequently admitted by arrangements, the patient having been on the hospital waiting list for a bed they patient having been on the hospital waiting list for a bed. They do not, therefore, require to be treated as emergencies and giving an admission bad right away if, however a walking in patient is found to have a temperature above 36.9 •c (98.4•F) admission to bed should be carried out at once otherwise they are treated in the following manner

The nurse received the patient and his friends as they come to the ward the friend is usually asked to wait in the waiting room while some particular are taking form the patient. The patient is taken to the ward desk and the admission card is filled in with the following details name in full date of birth address religion name and address of is nearest relative, occupation name And address of his own doctor and how long he has be Ill. If the patient has previous attend an out patient clinic or is being admitted from an out patient department thus information should not be necessary for the patient or his relative to answer the same question many times if the patient is a child he will be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can give the necessary information
